i went over to one of the junkier junk yards today looking for a rear end for my daughter's 4runner. its a crappier junkyard, no computer inventory.
very few late model wrecks and mostly just old cars that died a natural death of old age.
so what do i see... lots of chevy blazers, lots of dodge minivans, jeep cherokees, ford explorers. lots of little ford and chevy cars, a few older ford and chevy trucks, and a couple of dodge first gens. lots of dodge vans. surprisingly - a couple of little MG and Triumph kind of cars. no hondas, no toyotas.
the number one, most common vehicle in the junkyard ..... dodge dakotas.
they must have been real POS's.

DV don't let the Dak guys hear you say that! They could catch you late one night in a dark alley and all gang up on you.

I had a 1995 Dakota, put 40,000 miles onto it is all, but was a darn good little truck.
I like my Ram better, obviously, otherwise I wouldn't have purchased it, but they are good little trucks. Taking one junkyard's inventory and making a judgment call like that is rather silly... to make that profound a statement, you'd have to at least check a few more in your area.
