check these

Plenum gasket- refers to the lower intake manifold plate, where the gasket between it and the intake manifold itself often fails allowing oil and engine vacuum to leak past. Common problem on Chrysler Magnum V8 engines.

the cat,, because they can plug up when the plenum is leaking

o2 senor most likely the on atfer the cat to contor the gas/air mix

Welcome to the Fourms. Are you familiar with our Search feature? Honestly there are a multitude of fixes, tweaks, and techniques to improve the fuel mileage. And yes we own Dodge's, the words Magnum and Fuel Mileage don't really go together.

you said you replaced the plugs but didnt say anything about the cap, rotor and wires??....these are all things you would replace on a real thorough tuneup. also you never gave us an idea of your mileage on the engine.....oviously a motor with say 250k is likely to be worn and have worse gas mileage than one with 50k on the odometer....mileage has a lot to do with driving habits too...if you like to go from a stop to the speed limit as fast as possible that burns more gas than driving like an old man ...(no offense to any old guys on here)
oh yeah also make sure your tranny is shifting ok....when I bought mine a sensor was bad and it would delay in shifting and wind out to 3500 rpms or so burning a lot more gas...then it quit upshifting completly till i changed it....but a employee with a code reader at the local auto store should tell you if theres anthing wrong with the tranny.

I've Replaced the wires, New plugs, New rotor, new cap, new air filter, fuel injectors cleaned, new oil & new oil filter. and the truck has 188k miles on it. Shifter tansmission and everything else works good, jus tha damn thing is getting horrible gas milage. I dont know what else to do to it, it's not a 4x4 so im not going to put alot of money into it. Is there anything else that i can do? or should i just go for getting a new truck?

my dads 5.2 2wd gets bout 17 city, 21 hywy
