I got a 96 dodge ram 360 and i want a manual transmission but im stuck with an auto so is there somewhere out there like possibly a convertion kit or is a junk yard my best option, cause i can buy NV3500 transmissions all day long but i need a little more than just the trans any help would be nice thanks

Yeah, your best bet is to have a donor truck, so you can get all the parts that go with it (clutch pedal assembly/linkages etc.). Also, from what I understand you will have to get a different flywheel as well, as the they are balanced differently, and you will have to have the PCM flashed too.

donor truck would be the easiest, then just replace any broken and/ or worn out parts you may need. IIRC 1500's diddnt come with a 360 and a stanard, youll have to get a 2500
ya looks like its a automatic over haul for me but.... i found a good wepsite that has alot of really strong trans kits (so i have heard) here is the link http://www.transmissioncenter.net/dodge.htm they have alot of viper transmission parts for our type transmissions check it out... there is a guy in my neibor hood that claims he can overhaul automatics so ima talk to him see what he can do
