Exclamation 727 Trans shifting to late 97 ram 440 swap any ideas?

Ok i just finished installing a 71 440bb and 71 727 trans into my 97 ram 2wd.
This thing slams 2nd to 1st gear downshift and 1st to 2nd up shift and will not
shift into third with a normal acceleration pattern, but will shift if you gas it and wind it out then let off the gas. I am using the 97 318 46re kickdown cable and i think it might need adjusting but i am not sure witch way to adjust it. does
anyone have an idea about anything else that could be causing this problem
or know where to go to find out

thanks for all the help .

chris

you can get the hood from lmc truck and the front bumper at http://rt1design.com/supertrucks1.html

i will get some pics of my cable set up tomorow after work but the cable is attached to the 727 the same way it is attached to the old 46re with a bracket bolted above the trans pan just behind the shift selector and kickdown lever using the bracket off of the 46re

adjusted the kickdown cable alot today and got a whole lot better shift pattern but the 1st to 2nd is a little short and the 2nd to third holds a little long but will shift into third without having to work the throttle this trans has a shift kit but i dont know what kind and i have a 4:10 gear in my 9.25 is this shift pattern typical for a shift kit by the way it no longer slams gears at all and i think the kickdown band adjustment maybe out of wack i dont have a torque wrench to set it rite any suggestions

thanks for all the help chris
