Hey I have a 2000 dodge ram and it started acting weird the other day.
I drove it down the road, came home shut it off and went inside.
The next day i tried to start it and it would turn over but no spark, the engine and fuel light came on and the No Bus started flashing on my odometer.
My fuel gauge said i had no fuel and my fuel pumped never kicked in as well,l but i had 3/4 of a tank of gas.
The next day i went to start it, it started right up fuel pumped kicked in the no bus went away engine light went away it was normal so i went to my grandfathers, shut it off and when I went back to start it up it did the same thing over again, i left it alone for a day or so and it worked so i drove the truck home.
As i was backing up in my driveway it stalled and the engine light came on and no bus was on also the fuel light, it still had lots of gas. I decided to hook the diagnostic to it and every time i did the fuel pump kicked in and the truck start for about 5-7 secs, i tried changing fueses and the cluster and it still acted up, it will work alright then wont start for a few days. Does anyone know what is wrong i dont want to pay does $80 an hour for labour for them to figure it out and thats not gaurenteed that they would figure it out under 10 hours which is $800 just to tell me what is wrong, I can't afford that if anyone could tell me what it is my email is jmcfowlerpasch@hotmail.com thanks

sounds like the infamous fuel pump issue.(even though you hear it come on it could be shutting right back down) All the 2nd Gen rams usually have the fuel pump replaced by 150K, try thati bet it will take care of your problem

based on the "no bus" i'd guess its a sensor/pcm issue shutting everything down and the no fuel is a false lead.
i've never tried this, but a dodge tech from the past recommended unplugging all the sensors, and then plugging them back in one at a time to see if one of them will trip the no bus. i think he said the crank position or maybe cam position sensor was the one most likely to cause it. i don't know if it will crank or not with all or any of those sensors unplugged.

Check the wires that ground on the top power steering bracket bolt. There are 2 wires that run across the top of the engine and ground to the bolt. I had an issue with the wires not grounding properly from time to time and every time I it did it would say no bus. It would also shut my truck off if it was running.
you should also check the wires/plugs that are on the bottom of the firewall behind the inner fender on the driver side. those wires breaking are pretty common, or so im told
