Just ordered a set of Raybestos wheel cylinders for a `96 GMC K3500 Sierra XC (Dually) from RockAuto. Only $8.09 a copy. Time to see if I can get any bite at all out of those rears.

Isn't RWAL disabled in 4wd? I use Hi-Lock all the time when it's wet. Might have to learn this truck all over again. I'd hate to find myself swapping ends when it rains. I know ... the Demon mentioned an adjustable proportioning valve ... might have to look into that.

Can you even lock just the rears in 4wd? Wouldn't the xfer case keep them turning as long as the front axle was?

That's what we're testing it for. We've got a handful of 1/2 ton owners (myself included) who are in the process of modding their trucks. I'm still waiting for my wheel cylinders to come in. They're going on the minute I get them. There's no reason for it NOT to work.

I didn't know if the wheel cylinders would physically fit or not. let us know how much modifiying is needed. also would a 1995 1500 have the load sensor on the rear for the brake proportioning. i am refering to the weight sensor that is shown in the picture in this post above.

Nope, it's only found on some 96.5 and newer models

1/2 tons don't have the load sensor. They have a fixed proportioning valve and RWAL (or ABS as an option).

The wheel cylinder is supposed to be a 1 to 1 swap. Dodge uses AC Delco OEM brake parts to save $$$. My cylinders came in today and they'll go in tomorrow morning.

I'll report on the level of success in the thread created by The Rom for that information. [8D]

Why can't ANYTHING go simply? [:@]

I got my wheel cylinders today ... same part numbers on the boxes ... not QUITE the same parts IN the boxes.

I mean, I'm sure they will work fine. But if I was O.C.D. instead of A.D.D. I think I would have a REAL problem!
