Default MY V-10 Died

Well folks, Ill give you the short story, because dam, I could write a whole book on my weekend.

Friday I left from Edmonton AB with an 18 foot car trailer on my way up to Ft.Nelson BC (625 miles, 11 + hours away). I make it about a third of the way in the evening, and stop the night. Truck was pulling strong, lots of hills and trailer wasnt a problem for the truck. Saturday morning, I get up early and drive from 9am to 3pm straight. The only stop was for fuel. I then proceded to pick up my cargo (04 subaru WRX) and carry on my merry way. I get outta town, truck still pulling strong, can barely feel the car and trailer back there. I was able to cruise at 110 KPH without any problems, there was a couple hills that made the truck slow down. 115 KMs later, I notice the oil pressure guage dropping fast, then the oil light came on. So I pulled over, poped the hood, check the oil, everything is good, except for the fact the truck wont turn over. The crank is solid.

By this point, Im 10 hours away from home, no truck, dead cell battery, and a whole lot of no luck.

Needless to say, Ill skip the details of the tows. But now Im left without a truck for a couple weeks. Time to source out another motor. Lucky for me I had a rebuild motor installed last year, and my luck (which i have very little of) I still have warrenty. So hopefully everything goes good and my Dodgy will be back on the road.

Otherwise, the V-10 is getting ripped out along with the wiring, and anything else to do with that dam gas motor, and swap in a oil burner.

Buying cheap used Ram V10 2500 pickups and converting them to Cummins
would seem like a good home business for someone to do
especially if the schools in your area had Cummins 12V equipped buses
that are being retired.

Some school districts around the USA have retired still serviceable Cummins
buses because of parents complaining that diesel soot is a health danger to
young children.

The 47 series automatic transmissions need to be upgraded to
higher standard internal parts like you can get from
www.dieseltrans.com

The NV4500 manuals need to be upgraded to NV5600
six speeds.

The front suspensions need mods like Lukes Link, Solid Steel braces, etc

For the Diesel, I have a line on any rolled/smashed/destroyed truck since I know a few people at salvage auctions etc. So getting one is the easy part, its the price of the truck that will be the only worry. If I do end up doing a diesel swap, I will end up pulling the cabs off both trucks and swapping the drive trains. And since I have the V-10 truck, the suspension is the same.

I got word today that I wont have a truck for a month or more, and believe me, Im not happy being my only vehicle. There isnt any V-10 long blocks in canada or the states ready to go. The company outta the states will be starting on building one for me as of Wednesday and my motor needs to be pulled and shipped out for inspection.

Boy this sucks. Might just have to go bite the bullet and buy a new truck
