Default Heater Core

I have a 1999 1500 318 4x4 , I have water leaking out a hose coming out my firewall on the passanger side when I run the heat is this a bad heatercore and is it a hard job to do at home. Please Help....

heater cores are in general a pain in the a$$ to replace some go as far as taking out the dashboard. im not sure with ram trucks though

I paid to have mine replaced this summer it is impossible to do in the home shop. I believe it requires taking the entire dash apart possibly taking out the windshield. Me and my dad tried to do it ourselvesspent all day cramped trying to figure out why someone would design something that was this imposible to do your self.

It could be a couple of issues.
1st. It could be the condensate line to drain as it does more with the A/C running.
2nd. It may be the hose clamp loosened over time and justneed to tighten or replace.
3rd. Hose could have a hole in it and needs to be replaced.
4th. Your screwed and the heater core is bad. They will usually leak in the floor when they go bad. If it is leaking outside than it is probably a connection problem.

This is my opinion from past experience and not meant to beprofessional advise.
