I have a 98 Dodge Ram 1500 2WD with a 3 inch body lift, 1 inch block lift in rear, and 1.5 inch coil spacers in front. I am currently running 285-70-16 and it just isnt cutting it. I need bigger, so I am asking what I could run without rubbing?

 

Likely 285/75 or 305/70.


And rear gear please, if you haven't already. Your gas bill and your trans will thank you.

You have a V6... I wouldnt go very big tire.. He is referring to the gear ratio.. Most likely 3.55...

i'm guessing 35's, but that's pretty big for a 2wd. also pretty big for a V6, i'd hesitate to go over 32-33.

35s don't bother regearing if you don't tow if you know how to drive your trans will be fine no need to dump a grand on gears

 

buddy of mine in high school had a 97 dodge 1500 3.9 he lifted very simaler to what you but had a homemade 4in body lift(we were in high school with little funds) but he ran 315/70/17s on 17x10 eagle wheels and they stuck out aboout 2-2.5ins past the fender well and he never had any problems with the tranny or rear end(3.55ratio) or rubbing in fact he still has the truck 7 years later and still drives around once in awhile im not sure of the miles on the truck but i know its around 230k on all stock parts... so like the others said it does depend how hard you are on it. the only thing he ever towed around was a 15ft trailer that haul quads....

if it were my truck that i drive daily id got with with 34-35 in tire and you just gotta make sure you get the right off set...

you guys really like to tell people how to waste money don't you I have had 37s on my old truck never had 1 issue on 3.55s idk if it is because you guys don't know how to drive or maybe its because of the way the trucks are built down in the states
