So I'm seriously considering regearing to 4.10 and I'm trying to figure what to get.
I have the standard Chrylser 9.25 rear axle and so I'm wondering if these will work.

Also, to regear both axles, which I plan to do, do I just get two sets of ring and pinion gears or is there anything special I need for the front?

Yeah, sorry forgot to mention that. Which bring up another bring, I wanna save up and get a limited slip installed in both axles but I don't what I need.

All I know is: 1) its expensive to have them installed. and 2) make sure you get the same gears for the front, which I think is hard to find.

 

Well, I'd imagine I'd just need to buy two sets of 4.10 ring and pinion gears, one for the front and one for the back. But my problem is figuring out what to. Like on summit racing's website, it says the gears are for a Chrysler 9.25 axle, which I know I have but I don't know if there's anything specific I might need since it's a Dakota. And with the front, I would guess it's like regearing the rear, but like I said, I don't know everything I need.
My biggest problem is being new to vehicle modifications and not knowing what I need.

So, you have a 9.25" rear end and a Chrysler 8" IFS front differential. Hence, you need to find the corresponding ratio for the front. Keep in mind that you may want to consider taking this opportunity to replace your bearings and seals.

So, I'm looking at about $600 in parts. Anybody got a guess for labor? I remember someone saying it's usually around $1000 to $1200 but I can't remember if that's parts and labor.
Plus I also want to put a limited slip in, too. So another $500 for that. Any idea what labor is on that?
And I guess I need to save up a little more, since it's just $1100 for the parts I want.

Easier when towing, which is almost every day, and a lot of it's city driving so it'll help with getting truck moving off of stoplights. And every once in a while, we have to off road and I've gotten stuck before because just one tire was spinning.
