Got a 02 sport 5.9 and I have replaced cap rotor, plugs and wires, TBS, and checked the fuel presser which was good. After doing all this it still runs like crap. starts up fine and idles fine. when driving it sputters allot. Hooked it up to a computer and everything was fine... even both O2 sensors. ??? What next ??
not sure about plenum?.... is there a way to tell if its actually the problem ? the o2's are stock as far as I know... cat... havent checked it... but never noticed any leaks ..
How many miles on your truck? If you have no CEL's then I would suspect the plenum (thus a clogged cat). Look down the throttle body and see if there is any oil pooling up.
Could be a clogged cat, but I'd lean more towards a bad O2 sensor somewhere... he might have a check engine light that isn't staying after the sputter...
figured out I had a bad injector .. tested the oms and it was only reading 3.3 and the rest were over 12 .. at least I hope thats what the problem is.....
Go into the 2nd gen Ram section and read the End All Be All Plenum Thread.
That will tell you all you never knew you needed to know about the Dodge plenum problems.
OK!! so it wasnt the fuel injector ... although i did have one that was bad... fixing it didnt help.... its almost worse .... wont tack over 2000 now. when I had it on a computer the O2 sensors read fine... I did the sea smoke thing and no smoke came out at all .... And from why this hole thing started from in the firs place replacing the plenum doesnt seem likely ..... next i guess is the cat..
