Has anyone ever had issues with their D starting after filling with a different octane? I put about 3/4 tank of 91 premium(mixed with the 1/4 tank of regular left over) in about 50 miles ago and it didn't want to start for me when we left today. Nothing else has changed, other than it is hot and dry here. There are some wildfires burning in the city next to us, but the filter looks clean(possibly ash) Any suggestions? No point in bringing it to a dealer because i didn't let it get to the point of throwing a trouble code(I hit the button again and let off of the brake to stop it)

 

Octane should have not given you any issues. Bad gas however can. Start a log if it happens again. Like engine hot, cold, parked on hill ect.

 

Yea I plan on doing that. I got gas on a military base(which are known for bad gas, but I do it anyway cause I'm cheap) I'll watch it, and if it goes away I'll know its from the gas. I did switch the octane once before without any problems, but that wasn't the same ration(more like 50/50. I figure I am better off to ask and see if anyone had the problem.
Oh also, It was parked in my garage when this happened.

 

I put all 3 grades (87, 89,93) in my 11 Crew V6 and have no problems. I do see a difference in performance though and it sounds better when im using 89 and 93. No problems with starting though. Use Lucas fuel system cleaner (Clear bottle with green top) and an octane booster to clean it up. It works. I use BP, Sunoco, Hess, Wawa and other big companies i try to stay away from the small companies

 

My only other thought is my hid ballast is close to my ecm. Maybe interference? Tpms light came on for a split second today. I may put the factory bulbs back in. I do Like the hid's though.

 

Has anyone used e85 in their Durango? I see they finally put one of these pumps by my house and was curious if anyone has used it and if you've seen any changes when using it? Can you mix reg unleaded with e85?

Do Not Use E85! It will both cause performance problems and destroy your emissions systems. Engines designed for E85 have different equipment, Everything from fuel injectors to erg, o2 sensors and cat converters. Plus E85 eats Magnesium, aluminum and rubber. What your current fuel system is made up of.

 

My 2013 Durango is designed to use e85 or 87, on the gas cap it has e85/gasoline, i just wondered if anyone has use the e85

 

Do not use E85. Everywhere you look on window stickers E85 ends up costing you MORE. Your milage will drop so the cost effectiveness is gone when you are buying more fuel.

Fuel economy.gov lists the 2013 Durango 3.6L at:
Gas: 16 City 19 Combined 23 Highway - Annual cost: $2800
E85: 12 City 14 combined 17 Highway - Annual cost: $3400


Changing fuel grade would not have caused the problem for the OP. I am suddenly having issues like you mentioned as well with my 2011. Taking it in Monday and see what the dealer says.
