So whats the most you ever pulled, and how often do you do it.

I got the 4.7 auto 4x4 I pull a 2,300LB tandem axle flat bed with a 3000LB tractor or 3400LB Camaro

Don't use a W/D hitch but fixin to buy one, have a brake controller

Also pull a 18' Stingray Bowrider, and a 500LB 4x8 with a 700LB GT or 450LB Recon

 

I usually tow my 5,000lb travel trailer around about 3-4 times a year. There are the other few times I tow some projects home or to other friends houses.

I see you are not running a W.D. hitch, susprising to have no squat, you running air bags or helpers?? Also running a brake controller??

 

On the rear I have leaf springs from a Ram 2500, that is more then enough to keep the rear from sagging. LOL

Yes I got an electronic brake controller, I'm not sure what brand but something simple that does the job. I can't imagine towing a trailer that large without electronic brakes. It is 25ft long.

Before the travel trailer we had a pop up, it was a large pop up too. I hated that thing so much.

 

Are 2500 springs direct bolt on??

 

Kinda is a direct bolt on. First of all Ram 2500 came with 2.5in and 3in wide springs. Ours are 2.5in so only the 2.5in wide leaf springs will work. You will need to replace the lower springs of your spring pack with the ones out of the Ram.

99' 3.9l Dakota, I tow a 1984 Celica on an open trailer, maybe 4200-4500lbs add about 200-300lbs of tools and parts in the bed aswell, I am at the maximum allowed I think although it handles it great, just a little underpowered on hills. I do it about 15 times a year.

I have a 2005 Dakota with the 4.7 and 3.55s and I've towed about 4000lbs of broken tile in a trailer that weighed 1500 pounds, plus a toolbox in the bed with about 300 lbs in that so probably around 6000 pounds in total and it did just fine. A little sluggish but handled it very well.
