Are trotlle body spacers and boring out the thottle body worth it?
Do throttle body spacers do anyting at all..............or enough to make buying one worth while?
Also what about getting the throttle body bored out.......Does that do enough.......

Having or buying a bored out throttle body would be your best invesment. the bigger bore on the tb is going to add better and smoother air flow into the intake. With spacers i have heard mixed reviews they really don't do much IMO. the old phenolic spacers work on carb equiped vechiles because they helped a little with the heat issues with the fuel in the carb.
There are a lot of people totaly against TB's. They say to just trow them away. I'm not sure why they would get tossed to the curb. Do they do anything at all? R.V.
I don't see why they would be against TB's the spacers i could see. A bored throttle body is going to have a larger and smoother inside diameter which allows more air flow. More air flow is gonna equal a bit more power and smoother throttle repsonse.
i have a carb spacer on the mirada, and it helps to get more air/fuel velocity into the engine, think about it like the old long ram tubes...i think that they are kind of a waste on a TB engine, and ive not met anyone who can really speak on the plus side of them...as for the ported TB, thats a little something that im tossing around...
i herd that the tb in a automatic neon or bigger than the manual one by a cuple cm. bceasue my friend has a 2.0L neon nd he bought an automatic tb nd it has better air flow
As a general rule automatic TB bores are a bit larger then those of a manual to help compensatef or the parasitic loss of power from an auto transmission.

Throttle body spacers and throttle bodies are just one many mods with questionable results: pulleys, CAI (IMO), catbacks. It all depends on the car and how much horsepower its putting out. A twin 52MM BBK TB for my camaro actually nets some improvement, though not really a noticeable improvement. Maybe a few horse power. But then again I have fuel mods as well as all bolt on mods totally 320 RWHP. Doing a TB on my Accent will be pointless. It's slow, and stock, and only puts out 92 HP. My new Stratus (150 hp) would be a little better gain then the Accent but not nearly as good as the camaro. A little off subject but I was just thinking how funny it is that my little a$$ Accent is as fast or faster than the 04 2.4L Stratus.
it weighs a fraction of what the stratus does...and a base model stratus isnt really made for speed....
