So love my truck in perfect condition. besides engine being worn starting to have problem after problem. wanted to put a 5.9 diesel in it but all know how much money goes into that. so does anyone know where can buy new engines to swap in which would be 5.9 V8 for 01 dodge ram 2500

Anything from 93 to 02 will work. Just need to use your intake, and sensors. I have seen them for as low as 1200, to over 10 grand, just depends on how much power you want.

Google is your friend though. You can sometimes find a good deal that previously you would have missed. Even craigslist can come up with killer deals once in a while.

Putting a 5.9L Cummins in your truck isn't impossible, lots of work and big $$$$, but it is do able....

If you want a direct swap you could buy a JY engine, maybe rebuild it, nice fresh motor
