Talking OBDII Bluetooth device.

For those who have OBDII on their vehicles this is for you.

I bought a Bluetooth OBDII connector. I use my phone to view all the data the engine has in the live feed mode. This thing is great, great price and with the Torque app, tons of info. You can Bluetooth to your PC too. http://www.ebay.com/itm/290930379709...84.m1439.l2649

I've had one of those for a while. You can't beat it for the price (I think I paid $25 for the Bluetooth thing and $5 for the Torque app).

Ok, I have also heard of these devices, but what can you do with the information downloaded to your phone or pc. Can you give examples of what modifications you added from the device to improve engine performance.

You don't get to modify anything. It gives you an opportunity to sort data in useful ways, though. Some even change out their gauge cluster and use a touch-pad. Cleaner than using many corded devices. It will also show HP, 1/8 mile speed and time as well as 1/4 mile. Of course, engine temp, O2 sensor readings and all the stats.

Fun and useful stuff. All for under $30. Make it $80 for iPhone users.

Yea you can't really modify anything, but you can read codes as well as live data which shows the exact numbers the sensors are outputing, which can be used for diagnostics or to modify other things to dial in the exact values you want. Depending on the app you use you can do true 0-60 numbers or 1/4 mile times. Or even a calculated estimated HP and TQ numbers. Also there are MPG instant and average values.

Heck just for an OBDII code reader is $50 at most places. For $15 you get more with this setup.

YUP, my $12 one didn't work on the bow-tie (chev), so I had to upgrade to the $24 one. Then add the $5.00 Torque app, and you're in business.

The app also allows you to create graphs. Well worth the money, IMHO.
