Eldorado MTZ tire help.
Hey guys just went to the tire shop today to price some different tires. Found the Eldorado MTZ Sport and flat out fell in love. So I was just wondering if anybody on here has happened to have ever had these tires and what would you rate them. I have looked around and the ratings seem pretty good but I kind of want to talk to somebody who has had them first. I am looking at 285/75/16's.

What kind of driving do you do? Do you offroad at all? If not wouldnt waste money on mud tires as they have very short life spans compared to an all-terrain tire or street tire and really would be unnecessary. Having said that I believe there is a member here who runs those, can't remember who though.

if you want that tires, just get them, then you will know first hand how good they are, i was in the same boat a few days ago, the wife's Liberty was in need of tires an we were looking everywhere for tires, every place i asked for mud tires was recommending an a/t because i tell that most of the time the Jeep is for highway use, i kept telling it doesn't matter i want to get my wife and kids on time when they bring me lunch, i work on a farm and there is lots of bad muddy roads, finally ordered some Cooper STT, now i am happy bought what i wanted

Those tires are a bias ply, if you're looking for a mud tire and plan to do any highway driving then a Radial ply is a must. Bias plys are softer and would wear much quicker. I'd look into Toyo Open Country MTs, Cooper STT, or Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ. They each last 45-55K miles if properly taken care of, by far the best treadlife of Mud-Terrians. My preference are the Toyos

I wish my tire shop was that cool. LOL My tire shop has only two kinds of mud tires that they can order and its Mickey Thompsons and the Eldorado MTZ sports. The MT's are $250 a tire and the Eldorado's are $220 a tire. The Eldorado's look just as good in my opinion though. Those are what I am going with. I am getting them in 285/75/16. What kind or clearance issues would I have? Would they rub bad?
