Default ok what am I missing here?????

I've got a 99 Ram 2500 quad cab 4WD shortbed. and I have been advised by U-Haul that it can not tow a mini van????? I pulled my mom's mini van plenty of times with my 97 F150. I can't see how the 2500 can't do it with ease? what's the deal? can someone enlighten me, so I at least understand.

They probably offered to rent you a vehicle to tow the minivan too, right?

dodge dude, i know that's where the problem lies, lol. but unfortunately i don't have a dolly or trailer, so they are really the only ones i can go to, lol.

the weird thing is they rented me a full car trailer when I had my 97 F150 to tow a BMW M3 back that I had purchased. i figured the 2500 would be a no brainer, lol.

I'm with dd94.
UHaul told me I couldn't tow a Neon with my Ram.
Enlightening the area manager to the sales tactics used, and towing spec of your vehicle and the weight of that to be towed did wonders.
They rely on folks not knowing, to up-sell.

Put the shoe on the other foot... since they told you you can't, ask them for the towing spec for your vehicle, and the weight of your minivan... money they have no idea.
Then give them the real numbers, and tell 'em their competitor is more than happy to help you.

what are you planning to tow with? a dolly or a trailer?
they might be looking at hitch rating, class3= 5000 total, 500 tongue
or they might know that dodge transmissions suck. lol.

rent from Budget. they're cheaper anyway. tell them you're going to tow a Yugo.

In my case, after I was done with the area manager, they happily gave me a tandem car trailer at the cost of the dolly I initially requested (since they didn't actually a dolly available).
