i have a 2000 neon the oil light goes on and off about 1min. intervals. about 1 week ago i disconnected the oil sending unit so when it came on i checked the oil it is not low it is in the safe zone so i kept driving home. so what do u think it is. i thought it might be its time to change the oil. i dont know what it could be???????? thanx, tschay
-Just sounds like a bad sending unit to me. Or pull the old one out and see if there's a bunch of sludge buildup on it. Could also possibly be a bad wire connection at the sending unit...
If you unplugged the sensor, I'd venture to guess that is why your light is on. There's no pressure reading, so the computer is saying there's a problem (light on).
