Default transmission

Hey guys finialy took my truck to a shop and he sayed he believes my shift silinoid is bad so I did it myself while under there I was wondering if the 2 valves are supposed to have a lot of play in them or not? I can move em up and down maybe a inch or so. Any idea how much play that should have ?

Are those the band apply pistons? Probably wouldn't hurt to adjust them up.....

I'm not sure what they are I don't know much on transmissions myself I just didn't think it was good for them to be that loose. Another thing is is that the bolts on my valve cover were not that tight some only hand tight could that be causing a shift problem to?

Do you mean valve body?
Yes loose valve body bolts could cause shifting issues.

I suggest you take it to the shop and let them adjust the bands.

And please add ALL the info about your truck to your sig and profile. Thanks
