So I just bought a 2001 Ram 1500 Laramine. It's definitely a fixer upper and I'm gonna need help. The "fix" list is:
One side of the speakers don't work
It needs a completely new dash
The glove box needs to be replaced
The windows usually work
It has a 10" lift and the steering is loose
Mechanically, she's solid. So what I'm asking is how do I fix all of this cheaply and correctly.

 

Junkyard will cover the top 3 if you want cheap (assuming bad speaker). Does it have an aftermarket headunit?
You will have to describe how the windows are (or arnt functioning).
Loose steering with 10" lift. Not a surprise. Look at front end components. (ball joints, track bar, tierod ends, sway bar (does it still have it). Look up a steering brace. Adjust your steering box if absolutely necessary.

 

replacing the whole dash is alot of work, you can buy a dash cover though. they make a carpet one and also a new plastic one you can silicone on top of the old. the speakers could just be a broken wire, same thing with the windows, could just be a short. as far as the loose steering, how much are you talkin? you can try to tighten up the steering box some to take some of the play out, but you may wanna look up RockSolidRamSteering. it basically replaces a bushing in the steering shaft to get rid of the play.

 

What size of tires are on this truck? What's the wheel offset/backspace? Post up some pix of the steering set-up/linkage, 10" lift if it's still stock stuff you will be spending some cash to get one that suits your lift. Don't start adjusting anything until you go over the whole front end checking it for slop.

 

All of the speakers are sony xplode and the head unit is sony as well. The truck has Skyjacker stabilizer bars and pro comp coilovers. It tracks straight but the wheel isn't aligned. There is a lot of play left and right however. The tires are 33's(yes they're too small)

 

have a friend rock the steering wheel gently while you watch and see what's moving, that shouldn't be. (engine off, rock just till he feels resistance.)

 

I'm talking maybe 20 degrees if not more of play. It's almost dangerous lol

As Merc said, check for play in all tie rod ends, even the one on the pitman arm. Even inspect the steering shaft between firewall and steering gear box. Diagnose the stuff before buy stuff is a great way to put coin where it will benefit.
