Default 1st gen common problems?

Just bought a 91 W250 that I'll be driving daily. Has a 360, OD transmission, and 4x4 (CAD front axle).
My question is, what are some common parts that fail on these trucks? I'd like to have some spares on hand so I don't get left stranded. I know the older Dodge's blew resistor blocks like mad.

My inventory list so far :

- temporary fan belt (duct tape)
- a few spark plug wires
- vacuum hose
- zip ties
- pliers
- socket set
- hammer/screwdriver
- tow strap

Any pointers are appreciated.

From what i have been told the cad isnt very reliable. Ive heard it likes to get stuck and not lock in or unlock. Im taking it off mine and putting the non cad axle in it.

That's a good idea. Mine works great so far, but it's gonna get swapped out ASAP. Probably a Chev shaft

i dont that model well. but if it has the reg electronic ignition that has a white ballast resistor. get 2 spair and put them in the glove box. at the first NO start just swap out the ballast first. hot and cold weather make the trouble worse.

A 91 will not have a ballast resistor.

thats good to know. i am sure the trucks and car are diff on which ones have resistors. my 77 dodge 1/2 ton had resistor. and my 84 ply car did not. when i had the 77 twk i was walking to work. and it sat for 3 days with water and freezing coming down when it did not start my factory service manual had me check the resistor FIRST. the water ran behind the resistor and froze, breaking the resistor. after that i just let it hang out in the open. i have even been known to have extras bolted near by. a regular OHM meter is all you need, to check it.

Default lines

Take a close look at the brake and fuel lines. They rot fast. Also the gas tank straps.
