Noise from front while engine running!! Need help plz.
rattle/noise/ from under bonet while engine running!!
Dear all
I have 2012 crew Durango doing about 73000 km and just recently noticed a rattling or a sound like something loose from the engine near the front end. This sound comes just while engine running but is not continoues!! It comes slightly hearable then whispar.
It looks to me like the belt is not tighten!! But not sure!! I have installed an oil catch can so wonder if that could do this or damage any thing in the engine?
I wonder if any came across such similar problem and what was the solution?

Is the noise ONLY during idle or at speed?
If it is at idle then start the engine, pop the hood (bonnet) and wait for it to show up so you can pinpoint the location. If need be, make yourself a stethoscope from a long section of rolled up cardboard to check the places deep in the engine bay your ear can't reach.
If the noise is only at speed then start slowly poking slowly around (after the engine's cooled off!) the exposed elements of the engine bay and see if what might be loose, and keep an eye out for any obvious signs of wear on the hoses, wiring, ties, covers etc. etc.
Good luck.

will take it to dealer
Thanks Orin for passing by and your attempt to help
Well the sound more obvious while engine idle but also hearable at very low speed under 30 km.
I opened the bonnet and tried to locate where it comes from and seems that it is from the front top of the engine!!!!
I have booked an appointment for service in the dealer but hope they will solve it without problem as the dealer here in Saudi Arabia is one of the worst dealer ever around the worlds. If you get your car in for any reason then there must be some thing wrong or broken go with your car. However, this sound seems scary and must be solved by professional.
Will get back to here if problem solved.
thanks

Problem was discovered
Hi again
I want to share the solution of my previous noise problem with all of you. I took my durango to dealer and once the mechanic heared the sound, he told me it is the water pump. They replaced it on warranty and did the normal 50.000km maintainance then the car now is ok.
They told me that this problem of water pump occur in so many cars even with recent models! Which seems to me so bad. Hope dodge can avoid this in the future. I think because the weather here in middle east especially in Saudi Arabia is too hot weather.
