Default V8 Throttle Body MOD

Hey yall; I've tried the search already; I thought at one point we had a guy posted about the Stock V8 THrottle body Mod where the fins were cut off the throttle body to mimic the Holly performance one.. and also boring out the throttle body..

I'm looking to modify my stock one and wanted to compare what all was cut off (Im assuming everything) anyone know the thread that can hot link me?

Id buy a dremel I never thought I would use mine much but I do use it a lot. Comes in handy for various things. You can get one for 40 bucks

What did you do about the air hat bolt and bridge? I was thinking about possibly bending a threaded post.. seems the plate there looks like it would further restrict; if we get rid of that it might help the small little gain we get off the mod.. I think i seen spectre make a pre bent one too in the shape of a 's' sorta shape.

I suggest saving the material under the air hat mounting bolt and only cut out the rest.

See how it feels then decide on removing the rest I don't think leaving that small an area intact will reduce any gains you may receive.

Yeah i just see that bulky flat metal as being more restriction on air flow IMO.. Just like that little flat piece of plastic in the factory air hat; the aftermarket hats for the 'open air systems' aka (so called) CAI's have it too just different and in a different position; when i cut mine out it seemed the throttle response was slightly noticeable. half and WOT. low end its questionable.. not much a gain there other than trying to not restrict the natural air intake...
