Default Block test passed still burning coolant

Alright, so my 99 318 half ton is burning coolant pretty bad. I figured a blown head gasket. So before I tore into it I put a block tester on it. After pumping the tester with the truck at idle for way longer than recommended the fluid stayed blue. So can a blown gasket still be the problem?
What do you guys think?

Are you getting white smoke out the tailpipe? No puddles on the ground? Oil still look ok?

Welcome to DF!

^Same questions as HY.

Also do a compression test, and post your results.

Alot of white smoke. Smells like burning coolant. No doubt thats whats happening. Oil is good. No signs of coolant in there.

I'm not familiar with the block tester, but couldn't a bad intake gasket let coolant slip down into the combustion chambers too?

It's at least cheaper and easier than head gaskets...

Idk. Iv never thought of that. I didnt think coolant goes thru the intake manifold.

How would I test for a bad intake gasket?
That wud make sense tho. The coolant leaking down the valves? I wudnt have any exhaust gases in my coolant. When I start the truck after it sits for awhile I get a clowd of white smoke. So wud the coolant in the manifold be draining into the cylinders while it sits?

Coolant definitely runs through the manifold. That's where the thermostat sits.

It would have to be a pretty round about path to get to the chambers, but I imagine its possible. Never seen it, but possible.

No idea how to test your intake gaskets either. Afraid I won't be too much help here, but the other guys will be, I'm sure.

Try to get a compression test done soon. That's the beet check for what you're dealing with.
