Muffler Grounding??
2006 Durango SLT 5.7l Hemi
Came out of the Dr's office today and noticed something hanging from under the body. Sorta in the middle on the passenger's side. After looking at it..one end is bolted to the body and the other end looks like it came from the exhaust.
So...does anybody know the purpose of this, what looks like a grounding strap, is? I've searched around and there have been people with the same problem but no one ever knows what it's for.
Do I need to fix this? I haven't noticed anything funny with the vehicle itself.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

No, the technician told me about it, but I saw it hanging for at least a year when I would go to my Durango from my warehouse. It never caused a problem hanging so I never bothered to cut it off or re-attach it until the transmission went out. He attached it while he was repairing the transmission as he had to remove the exhaust system.
