I just replaced mine. There are 2 screws in the glove box, several under theinstrument cover and 1 on the end then the cover just lifts off. I went to the scosche website and ordered the adapter plugs.

If you scout eBay, you can snag a Dodge Caravan or Dakota premium sound system with both cassette, CD, AM/FM stereo with MP3 plugin connection for about $99. It's a direction hook-up to your wiring in the Ram Van. Thus a no brainier for plug-n-play. Even the joystick system for speaker selection works well.

One of the good models is Chrysler Corp p/n P04704383AH or models from the AD to AH era of revision. The sound is excellent from this radio as we have this model in our Caravan SXT. You may need to upgrade the Ram Van 6x9 speakers for the doors and rear. The dash corners at the windshield have the 4-inch tweeters.

The unit has to be the square one. The rounded side types will not mount correctly. 1884-2002. Models from 1998-2002 are the better units.

Here is the square one pix.

I had one of these exact radios installed by the factory in my 2000. I'm not really an audiophile but I am pretty serious about my car stereo and personally, I found this unit totally unacceptable. Limited frequency response, poor quality audio, eq ***** fall off, joystick is prone to failure and cds would randomly refuse to eject.

Limited bolt-in options due to the non-standard 1.5 DIN slot. Just buy a $5.00 ford/chrysler/dodge/plymouth dash adapter and install any ordinary 1 DIN radio with the $5.00 wiring adapter kit from crutchfield or amazon.

Well, thanks for all the hints. I already bought a stereo a few months back when I bought the van. Found the following at Wal-Mart for less than $50.00.

I got one of those kits to install it, and thanks to your help here, found the right plug adapters to plug it all in. The system I have, (above) doesn't take CDs, so I put everything I want to listen to on an SDHC card. It works great.
