Exclamation 2009 dj 3.5 sxt

My Journey is acting like its running out of fuel when you accelerate. I would have to put it in neutral shut the engine off and coast then start it back up and it would be fine for awhile. Now that does not work. Now I loose all throttle response and the rpms stay at 500. I did take it to the dealer but they say they cant duplicate the problem. I hooked up my scanner and I get two codes PO171 and a PO174 as a potential code. Any help would be helpful

awpmech,

I'm sorry to learn of the issue you're experiencing. Have you had a chance to discuss the fault codes set with your dealer?

The PO171 and PO174 codes are associated with the fuel delivery system. In addition to O2 sensors, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is also involved.

I actually found that the codes come up when you just put your foot to the floor Until the engine dies then those two codes come up but if you just ease onto the throttle when it starts acting up most the time it will clear itself up a little one fine other than that you gotta shut it off and started back up again when it does it the coast don't come up

Possibly low fuel pressure, bad fuel pump? You really just have to hook up a fuel pressure gauge to check it. But these cars requires some inline adapter to fit, it has not shrader valve.
