engine swap

Default engine swap

I have a 1999 dodge ram 1500 5.9 and the engine blew so i got a deal on one out of a 1996 and i know there are some differences but could some one tell me any specific that needs to be changed so it will work with the 99 and run right im using the 99 intake and keeping its wiring harness and thanks

Sort of. #1, do a search for such a thing. I know i have seen many many engine swap threads on here where they have talked about putting an older engine into a 98 or 99. Secondly, try posting this in the second gen section, no one looks here.

Just swap the intake, and the rest of the sensors off the current motor, to the new one. Bolt right in, hook right up.

When you perform the intake swap, be sure to fix the plenum gasket/plate issue on the intake that will ultimately end up on the motor that will be in the truck.
