Default Best Shocks for 5.7 Hemi 1500 2004???

I just bought a 2004 5.7 hemi and love it however I want to upgrade the factory shocks. They allow for too much bounce in the front end. This is strictly a grocery getter. No offroad use here. Any suggestions???

Also, what do you think about the flow pro as an upgrade to the factory muffler?

Thanks

I installed a set of Bilsteins shortly after buying my '04. I've had Ranchos on other trucks, and they are good also. However, the Bilsteins provide a much improved ride over what I ever experienced with Ranchos.

As far as the flow pro question - never heard of it. All I can suggest there is do your homework and do a lot of reading on this and other forums. A lot of people have gone with one muffler/exhaust system or another and ended up not liking the results, while others have had good luck. Much of it depends on what you want out of the system.

Thanks for the response - This really helps narrow the selection for shocks. Exhaust mod is still up in the air. The "flow pro" I referenced is from a local muffler shop and they recommend flow pro over "Flow Master" to help keep kind-of-a-stock sound but with better exhaust flow.

Any word on "Super Chip" for the Hemi.

Thanks again for all responses.

If it keeps a kind of stock sound then it is a replacement muffler. If you are going to upgrade and dont want it to be loud, go with a 70 series muffler. It gives great sound but is not extremely loud like the 40 series. I wanted something inbetween the two so I got a 50 series delta flow single 3" in and Dual 2.5"out and had it custom made. It was only 240 to get it all done and it sounds awesome.

yeah mine is real bouncy too...lol..when im on the freeway certain times i sound like a goat when i talk its so bouncy...i thought that maybe it was cuz the shocks were new and i needed to brake em in but now its at 6300 miles and still feels the same so i 2 appreciate your question cuz it helps me narrow out the selections...

I am ordering Bilstein's front BE5-6927HO, rear BE5-2550-H1.
I contacted Bilstein technical and for 2-wheel drive these are the one's.

(shocks from ProAm Parts & Accessories http://www.proamauto.com)

Thanks for all the great info.

Default RE: Exhaust for 5.7 Hemi 1500 2004???

5-26-04

The Bilsteins are great. They make the freeway seem a lot better. I added a 'flow pro' about 2 weeks ago and it all went like this. First installation was a short flow pro. After a quick drive around the block, off it came, and changed for a much larger flow pro. After driving for about a week and living with rattling windows and floor that one was removed and now I have almost a stock muffler. Very little sound and I believe back with the restrictions like the original.

Here is the question, what will give a deep sound, something like the old 'glass-packs' but will not vibrate the cab? I don't mind a louder exhaust at acceleration. I have spent about $210 for a chrome tailpipe extension at this point.
Thanks for your response, Mike
