RE: code p0299
Dude, that sucks. I looked at my code "cheat sheet", and that code isn't even listed. Your unfortunate experience is why I don't feel the need to upgrade from 325hp/600ft.lbs. of power. The more power we try to squeeze out of our already-powerful diesels, the more problems we run into.... My dad removed all of his banks equip for just this reason...

sounds like you have a boot that blew off, just as Kevin said.
realy, I wouldnt worry about the power adders. the engine itself with a few mods can easily hit 4-500hp. and make that reliably. Infact a guy I know dyno'd his built up 12 valve at 951hp, took a good bit of giggle gas to get it, but theres actualy some pony's left he's trying to fish out and this is his drag truck, I would say if he took it to Pinks he would constantly win since every time he goes on the 1/4 he's less than 1/10 a second off from his other runs. and it will do it day in day out[8D]

I agree that our Cummins' is the most reliable oil-burner out there, but I guarantee that a stock motor will last many more miles than a built one. It's just plain 'ol physics. [sm=nerd.gif] That's why gassers rebuild thier motors after every race or so. More stress = less life, at least on the rings, bearings, and turbo. Think your friend's 900+hp truck will make it to the 350,000mi. overhaul? I'm hoping mine will, and then some. I'm not looking to get into a debate over this, and I love to see a nice "tricked" CTD on the road. I guess that I just cannot afford both the upgrades, and the problems they bring, plus I don't want to nullify my powertrain warranty. Who knows, maybe after the warranty expires and it's broken-in (should happen at about the same time, the way I drive), I'll do a few "upgrades". That way, I can "smokescreen" the gassers that tailgate so close I can't see their hood.[sm=badbadbad.gif]

Aside from the check engine light, hows the new triple dog?
Have you contacted Bully Dog about this yet? They are looking for feedback and problems that might occur with new products (form what they told me when I had a warranty claim). They should know what that code is, and if they don't, they'll probably research it to trouble shoot future customer calls. I know my power pup came with an added insert mentioning codes that may pop-up with the system on 04.5-05 600 engines.
