Just called Checker Auto parts for a price on the Bosch Fusion Iridium plug and they said it was $17.99 each. I responded you mean $7.99, nope, $17.99 each. I called twice and got the same answer. Then I called Auto Zone and they were $7.99 each. What the heck?????

I've been working part time for the local O'Reilly auto parts store and have a bit of insight on those NGK Iridiums. When it comes to Copper, Platinum, Double Platinum, and Iridium plugs, the primary difference is the lifespan of the plug. The secondary difference is the electrical conductive properties of each metal. Iridium plugs are supposed to be a very long lasting plug with very strong conductive properties with coppers needing to be changed more regularly and not being able to conduct electricity as efficiently over time. The bottom line with plugs is to always go with a good manufacturer. I carry AC Delco, Autolite, Bosch, Champion, Motorcraft, NGK, and just got Pulstar (which is a whole new can of worms). NGK is the best plug we carry. You can depend on it to outperform all the other brands and last a bit longer due to the quality.

For info on the Pulstars, well that's a whole other thread we'd need to start. Plus they run $50 a pair and they are only sold in pairs so I disqualify them from the conversation by rule of TOO BLOODY EXPENSIVE!

$17.99??? That is when you contact Bosch and tell them they have a vendor of their's price-gouging (sp?). Are they F'ing kidding???

I checked out the autzone website, are these the ones that you guys are talking about? I'm thinking of putting them in also; they are the Bosch-Iridium-Fusion / Spark Plug part #4508. I noticed some of them stated "Do not regap." These do not have any such statements. So my question is, what do I need to do to these spark plugs before I put them in, if any? Thanks.

Also, are these plugs hidden in areas that make them difficult to remove?

Not an expert here but I read somewhere that one of the plugs, (back one?) was very hard to reach otherwise it was just a normal sparkplug job. I also read those 4508's can't or shouldn't be gapped. Think I'll just stick with the NGK Iridiums.

They do not need to be gapped. It's because of the four-prongled end of the plug. I have no issues with them.

I just did a 15.5 hour whirl-wind round trip overnight from from San Diego to Stockton and back (927 miles round trip) to pick-up a new puppy for my daughter's birthday. It ended up being two dogs with one going to a friend. And I have to tell you that the truck ran great. I averaged for the entire trip 19.6 mpg, running between 70 & 80 mph on the freeway. It also handled the Tejon Pass (a 30+ mile trek on the I-5 Fwy which consists of a 6% grade up and down) nicely.

Needless to say, these plugs are great!
