By doing this mod you have opened yourself to huge law suits. Brakes lines are secured tightly to frames because vibration cause steel lines to crack, then you have brake failure. You really should fix the problem you have caused. Good luck with that inferior mod.
Wow... you have no idea what you are talking about.
I dont see anything wrong with what you did here. The only thing you may have issues with is the axle breather tube that you thought was capped off is actually there to allow air to excape a hot axle if if cools rather then through the tubes causing diff fluid leaks out the ends of the axle. The tube has a check valve (what you called cap) and needs to be up high because if its submerged in water it will suck in water when the axle cools. That is why it was so high up.

Ok, based on my ST model (I don't know if the SLT, TRX4, and Laramies are different) I have one flexible rubber brake line going to the bracket above the diff. The line goes to a distribution block, and two hard lines go from the distribution block to the brakes, on the axle. For the one flexible line (longer) you would be looking at about $30.00 (rubber), if you wanted stainless steel braided, you would be looking at about $45-$50. If you do get the stainless steel braided line, you will notice a little better braking performance from the rear. This is due to the rubber line expanding under heavy braking force.

Thanks for clearing that up, I will move it again. Instead of where I placed it, I will install a little drop down bracket on the existing bracket, and mount it back up high.
