Default 2005 Dakota Engine Light

Hey guys I am new to this forum but already have become addicted and it seems like everyone is very helpful! I love my '05 dakota but I am having a problem with the engine light continuing to come on, the problem I am having is a rough idle and the code is showing a problem in cylinder 3. I have replaced the coil pack and the fuel injector and tried switching it with other cylinders and the code still shows cylinder 3! My only guess is that the valves may be sticky or the injector went again. If anyone has ANY advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot guys!

Sparkplug X2.

Lots of 4.7s idle rough... Lots don't.

Bad rings. Does it burn any oil?

Does it make any strange noises? Rattleing or clattering? If so, it may be a lash adjuster has completely collapsed causing the rocker to unseat and interfer with valve operation.

May be time for a trip to a trusted dealership.

well, the rough idle was blamed on the valve lash adjusters by a few people... Others say plugs with horrible gaps.

If you can get us a code, it might help. Auto zone will scan it for free...
