You start talking Optima you're talking money now, they're awesome batteries but overkill for most people. When I had my Chevy it would have cost me over 150 just to put a red top in it, ended up going with a napa batt.

I didn't have any luck with NAPA. They didn't have a direct OE replacement in stock and wouldn't be able to get one for a few days. I ended up just keeping the Bosch battery and fabricated a larger "hold down" bracket thing (the part that you thread the bolt through to hold the battery down on the engine side) and that ended up working out alright.
I also have a 2005 Dakota 4.7l 4wheel drive I bought a Autozone battery Duralst Gold It is the same size as Mopar Battery 3year replacent 8yr battery made by Johnson Controls
Good stuff, I'm still on my OEM battery. Which is suprising looking at how many systems I have constantly drawing power. Split Second computer, GPS, LCD Headrest and the DVD player, lol.
optimas are monsters! even if they're smaller than stock they put stock to shame. my old honda had a 3000w stereo on stock alternator and i had a capacitor and a red top. thing could handle anything.

I just replaced my battery about a month ago. I just went into Checker and got a battery (it was $99.99 i believe w/ 84 month warranty *3 yr full replacement). It fit perfectly in the tray.
