Replacement Battery
My 05' Dak's battery flatlined earlier this week, but I've been having a helluva time finding a replacement that is actually the same dimensions as the factory/OE battery. I picked up a Bosch battery, which was supposed to be the direct replacement for the factory battery, but it's still like 1" too narrow. As a result, the retention mechanism doesn't actually keep the battery from bouncing around. Tried calling the dealers in ABQ and was informed that they didn't have any in stock.
So..my question for you guys is: If you've replaced your battery, what brand did you use and did it actually fit in the tray? If it didn't, how did you solve the issue with the battery being able to move around?
(4.7L if it matters, not sure if the batteries are the same b/w the V^ & V8)

I have not replaced the battery in my Dak yet but try Napa. We've always used them for replacement batteries and never had any trouble.

The only thing with Optima's I've seen, though, Eric.
Is they aren't as big as the factory battery...
Maybe my Advanced Auto only has small ones... but I've never seen a red or yellow top the size of the one in the truck...

I've seen some rather large ones at Cabela's in the Yellow variety. I couldn't even pick the damn thing up off the shelf.

I had a Blue top in the back of my liberty running my amps, that was twice the size of my trucks battery.
