Default clicking sound on cold start?

Hey guys, I got a question here before i bring the truck in. Just recently my truck started makin a clicking sound when I start it up in the morning, or anytime on a cold start that is. I hear the sound for a couple of minutes then it goes away, but I also only really hear it when I accelerate. When I'm sitting at idle it's a very faint sound, but when I drive it's very loud and everyone can hear it. Any ideas on what it might be?

You never had the noise before? What sort of mileage do you have on the truck?

Valve lash adjusters....or exhaust manifold leak. Because he hears it more while accelerating, I almost lean toward manifold leak. My lash adjusters are noisy, but I can't really hear them while accelerating. Now, the leaking manifold was another story. Very noisy while accelerating.

Before the headers, I got the exhaust tick when I would start up on cold morning.

Yes I have the 4.7 (not HO), and i have almost 75,000 miles
yeah my dad said it might have something with valves and that. I've never heard this sound before, and now my check engine light went on...that's not good. I'm taking it in Monday night and having them start it in the morning to hear it. I have had kind of lugging cold start sounds in the past, but this is nothing like that. I guess the only thing i can compare it to, say you took a piece of rubber and spun it around really fast hitting the edge of a tabble...like that. Guess we'll find out!
