FM Modulators are crap steer clear for sure, The peripheral unit I put in lets you use the steering wheel controls for limited control of your ipod, this sounds like what he's doing for you,for $200 IDK I guess thats fair but you could do an aftermarket head unit with Ipod compatability for not much more I would think, assuming you did the work yourself(You can do it,everything is a cinch done inch by inch as my Granny says)

Is that because you have the 6 disc changer?

Idk i'm interested in what he is installing to. I found some interface cables that connect your ipod to the factory stereo. But i don't remember seeing anything about controlling it through the head unit. I'm defiantly going to ask a lot of questions. They have been in business for about 15 years and they did a good job on my last car. I will take pics of it afterwards and post them here.

The Peripheral unit I have cost $80-90 and it lets me scroll through tracks using the left side steering wheel buttons,it also automatically pauses and starts the ipod playing when you shut the truck off or start it up. IE the limited functions I mentioned in my earlier post. I'll bet that's what he is installing for you $90 for part and $110 for labor.

Honestly for $200 I would go with an aftermarket head unit that supports ipod control. Decent ones will also be able to put out higher quality sound, the stock radios other than the MyGigs are generally lacking in that area.

If you don't care about CD's this would make an excellent head unit for you, one of the better ones to go with an ipod: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+iDA-X303.html
