Default 42RLE pan drop - RTV or gasket when reassembling?

WHat have you all used, I know it comes with Mopar RTV from the factory but the kit I got (Wix) has a cork gasket.. That being said, did you use RTV Mopar (what color)? or the gasket?

thanks

When I took my truck in to get the fluid changed at a local shop they used black RTV to seal it.

as far as i know only the older vehicles that use cork gaskets are to use sealant. Newer vehicles use rubber gaskets and don't need sealant. I used just the rubber gasket. It came with the filter. Sealant is more of pain if you don't need it.

well after checking with the Dodge parts dept. they don't even have a listing for a gasket for the 42rle transmission.

Dodge wont have a gasket, any gasket that you find will be aftermarket.

what color is it? full name/ part # by chance? I ask because the parts person knows less about their parts and lookup system than I probably do. More than once I've gotten the wrong item.
