Default Quick question about stock gears?

I have a 2006 4x4 Dakota with the 4.7 in it. Its not the HO 4.7. What would the stock gears be in it? Thanks

open up the glove box and check the sticker on the inside back, should either be 3.92 or 3.55

Most with the 4.7 came with 3.55 gears, but 3.92 was a rare option.

mine doesn't have anything in the glove box and I didn't feel like looking up the build sheet. I just got under the back and there is a factory sticker on the Diff stating the ratio, same with the front

Nothing in the glove box either. No sticker on the diff, but I emailed about my build sheet and received a reply less than 24 hours later. 3.92 gears

Sweet! I remember when I saw mine, I was hoping for 3.92 but I saw 3.55 instead. My sticker was still intact, but the rust under the sticker builds of fast and will destroy the sticker in a matter of time. Got 4.10s now though, so I'm happy.

hey mku1974, I noticed you're from Missouri, which part if you don't mind me asking? I'm moving to FLW in February.

FLW= Ft. Leonard Wood? About 80 miles. Are you in the Army? Former 88M myself.

Yep.. Fort Lost in the Woods. 88M? Well that explains the Oshkosh. I have a friend who was an 88M. But I'm a dependant unfortunately (fortunately?) my wife is the Soldier, she's a 68R (Veterinary Food Inspection Specialist) basically health department with animal knowledge for peace missions. We almost went to Japan.. but Missouri is a close second apparently... I'm hoping to find an engineering tech job in the area, like I have now. Rolla seems to have a few candidates.. or maybe the base itself since they are doing so much expansion.

Lets continue this via PM's. Not looking to derail this guy's thread. PM incoming.
