Default durango grill

Ok, so has anyone tried to see if a 2006ish durango grill (the cross hair thing) will fit on our dakotas? I know just from looking at the bottom, there is the first and major problem. But i am workin on replacing my bumper (for the last 5 to 7 years), and i am just thinkin of a revision that could make this project a tiny bit easier.

I am making a steel bumper to replace the one I destroyed. I have drawings and parts already made to fit what we have, but if i could smooth out the top of the bumper, i might have a few more inches to put things in behind the Skin of the bumper (winch). the bottom of the durango grill is not as angled/droped like ours is, and I was hoping (and not really thinkin) that it would fit.

I like your thought process. I too have been struggling on whether my new bumper has to bee stepped like that. It would probably be easier to cut and re-glass the grill u have to make it flush with the bottom of the headlights. just section/remove the lower uprights of the grill and reattach the bottom cross member in the desired location. Gusset from behind, and dress up the front with fiberglass. Hmmmmmm.

Heck, just make a custom grill too! In for a penny, in for a pound!
