Default Water and oil leaks

I have a 05 dakota with the 3.7. I replaced the water pump about 10 or 11 month ago and now it is leaking again. The first time it wasn't the pump it was the pump gasket o ring. Now it is leaking again is this something that happens a lot with this motor? I also found a oil leak at the back I hope this is the oil pan leaking. The truck does have over 250k on it. What is it like to replace the rear main seal on this truck?

Was it a re manufactured pump? Could be a bad gasket again. I'd try just tightening up the bolts again if it is leaking from around there. Main seal replacement requires removal of the transmission. If you have the equipment it can't be that hard. Just got done replacing the rear main seal on my Mustang. I had a shop do it. It was like a $10 part but the bill was over $400 with labor.

I don't know if this has anything to do with the oil leak but I changed my oil with 5w20 sun but I have always used 10w30 Dino oil.

"Sun"? You mean synthetic? I would not have switched to synthetic at 250k miles if it's had Dino all its life.

Yes I did mean synthetic. I had got two jugs of oil one for the wifes mustang and one for my truck. Syn for hers and Dino for the truck didn't look at the oil when I did it had to go get more oil for hers, after I started to put my oil in her car.
