'06 Dakota QC - Need direction on seats that will work
The wife and I just bought an '06 Dakota SLT Quad-Cab. The thing that really uncomfortable for me is the front seat. It's not wide or deep enough for me as I'm 6'5 and 350lbs. I want to to change out the seats, front and rear if necessary but certainly the front. The thing I need is some help on finding vendors that make a quality seat. I'll retain the seat-belts as extenders work well enough that the stock ones are quite serviceable.
I'm 98% sure that there are no aftermarket seat options for our Dakotas. Ram & Durango seats do not fit. I guess that you would have to get a seat custom mounted onto the Dakota seat frame, or some other creative custom seat mounts made up. And the passenger side seat has airbag weight sensors tied into it, so the airbag system would need some attention too.
The wife actually bought it. There's about a foot difference in our heights. I used to have a Dakota back in '89, when I was a lot slimmer, fewer aches and pains and no Parkinson's.

Welcome aboard.
Almost no vendor that I've looked at thus far will advertise their product as fitting a "Dodge Dakota", '06 or any other year model. Has anyone used JC Whitney seating or trim. Are they considered the entry (low) point of vendor as far as interiors go? Oh, and thanks for the reminder about the airbags - almost forgot about that.
As stated, no one that I know makes aftermarket seats for the 3rd gen Dakota. You're going to have to go custom if you want to do anything. As far as quality goes, you get what you pay for. If you make the seats comfortable for you, is your wife going to be comfortable in them?
