Red face 2010 Dodge Dakota Big Horn

Hey guys...newby here! I just bought a 2010 quad cab Big Horn Edition that is all stock. I am starting to man it up a bit and started with a 2" front leveling kit. Put it on today and ended up with a 3" gain in the front and I am an inch taller than the back now! Not sure how that works, but it looks like I will now be adding blocks to the rear. Went to the local Tire Barn today to upgrade the tires and rims and left there totally confused. He said I can't go any bigger than a 30.5" tire. Right now it has 265/65's on it and he quotes me on 265/60's. I'm not trying to create a monster truck here, but surely we can go bigger than that can't we? I used to have a 2001 Dakota and that really is the stance I am trying to recreate. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated. I'm not really a gear head, so if you could dumb it down for me I won't be offended.

There is a tire thread on here if you look in the stickies that will tell you everything you need to know. But I have the same lift with 255/75/17. It rubs a bit if you turn hard into say a parking spot. But my struts are also shot so if they were new I bet it would barely rub if at all. I could spend about 10 minutes trimming and stop it now if I cut on the front mud flap.

You can go 265/75/16 with a leveling kit. That's on a stock wheel or one with a similar offset.

Welcome aboard.

Thanks guys! Dakotaff you are killing me with your truck! That is exactly what I am shooting for! Mine is the same color, the black bull bar is sitting in my living room, black rims will be ordered as soon as I figure out what to do on tires, and have talked to a paint shop about painting my grill black! I am going to put a light bar on the bull bar instead of the Baja lights and put another big one on top too. Please don't think you have a stalker when I get mine finished, you just beat me to it!

Nice sounding truck. I just purchased the same thing ('10 big horn) about a month ago, great truck so far. I'm interested to see pics of your truck. Sounds like you have some nice plans to do to it!

This is a good $10 DIY project.
Pop the grill off, scuff it and paint it with a spray tin of Plasticoat grill paint.
I did my grill as well as my wheels with that paint and they are standing up well.

Default bull bar install

Trying to get this bull bar on and I can't get the core support bolts out of the frame. It just spins and there is nothing to grab on the top of the frame. Getting my *** kicked...immediate assistance needed before I go postal!

You already created another thread on the subject. No need to keep asking the same thing everywhere.
