Default 4.7 HO/ 4x4/ Y Pipe

Has anyone replace the Y pipe on a 05-07 Dak with the 4.7HO engine? I have spent hours trying to figure out how to get a better Y pipe setup for the buck. My understanding is that the original is really restrictive. I don't really want to spend a great deal of money.

I'm thinking about seeing if a shop can straight pipe it and remove the cats. I would install a hi flow cat, adding wire length to the rear 02 sensors and move them back behind the new cat location just before the muffler. Im thinking 3" from the y pipe on back as well. Thoughts?

Any thoughts, help, and guidance would be helpful.

Thanks for the reply. When you mean collector you mean right where they intersect right? Awesome. I may just ask them to do that. I'm understanding that's where the most restriction is specifically.
