Cargo Net Installed

Cargo Net Installed
As many have found, the D doesn't come with upper cargo net hooks. Very frustrating when you find yourself having to go across the street to retrieve an onion that rolled out of the back when you open it. I ordered the Dodge cargo net (part # 55217379) and, as many attempted, started to jury rig something to work, using the plastic bag hook that's on the right and for example the velcro hook set up like this:

However, the hooks would not stay on mine and wanted something that looked like it belonged... not jury rigged. So I searched for something that would work and found my solution with the Toyota 4Runner. There are cargo net hooks (part # PT347-35991-HK) that are approx $3 or $4. I thought that was per hook, so I ordered 2. When they arrived I found out that it comes with 2 hooks, so I now have extra, but at that price I don't mind:
They are easy to install, just a flat headed bolt that goes through the panel and the hook screws onto it. It does require drilling through the panel and access to the back of it (both very easy):
After installing it looked much better in my opinion and the plastic bag hooks are still usable if needed. This is the cargo net that can be opened on the top to hold things in it as well:
Of course if you decide to do this, where you place the upper hooks are up to you. Just make sure you take the time to measure and be certain they are where you want them. At least there is finally a good fix to the lack of these hooks.
