Default SiriusXm Subscription Renewal

In case anyone is coming up on the renewal of their satelite radio. I received a notice to renew my subscription for $149 for the year on my Durango. But a friend of mine had just renewed his subscription (not a Durango) for $95.

So I called Sirius and told them I would renew for $95, but not $149. They agreed and gave me the $95 renewal for the year without any questions. It was surprisingly easy.

Just wanted to give you all a heads up in case you were getting ready to renew.

Too much still. the longer you hold out the more discount they will give you. lie to them and tell them you have a deal for like 50 for a year. i know many that have and it worked.

What will the renwal give you, the Sirius radio and the traffic or is that a separate service. I don't drive my D long enough to justify paying for a subscription between driving my other cars. What will I loose without the renewal, just the radio and traffic correct? It doesn't auto update or anything, correct?

Before I bought my new Durango my subscription ran out in my 2010 Ram and they called me and gave me 6 months for $15. Sometimes its better to wait a little while before you renew. I have never paid more then $30 for a full year in the 7 years I have had Sirius service.

If you let your subscription expire, they will offer a renewal to you at half price.

Mine just expired but I have yet to get anything in the mail, they did call right before it expired but it was crazy high for the back seat kids TV (3 Chan) traffic and radio. Since it has expired I Bluetooth stream my Pandora, the traffic always sucked anyways, google maps if far better and as for the TV in the back, I just load a DVD. The kids do not spend enough time in there to justify the three channels. I even use my Watch ESPN APP to listen to the game via Bluetooth. So long story short I am doing very well without it with stuff I am already paying for....
After thought,
I do miss my Travel link, the gas prices, weather and game scores were nice, but again, almost everybody has a smart phone they are already paying for that does all that and more.
