Default Towing MPG's?

So I went and picked up a bike today, 7x14 enclosed trailer, 2500 lbs, bike weighs 674. Truck pulled it at 80 MPH no problem( 77 MPH actually) the only bad part was the indicated 10.1 MPG's. What have you seen while towing??

I get about 12MPG pulling race car and trailer combo, about 4,000 lbs.
That's at 55 to 65 MPH ( Calif. max 55 MPH towing speed )

as all ways i recommend marvel mystery oil. especially for towing. 4 oz for 10 gal of gas. been using it for 30 years. most of the time the engine will start better. some times people get better MPG. it doesnt seam to harm cats. just dont over dose it. i put MMO in a sta-bil bottle. its easier to measure the MMO. i just dump it on top of the gas fill. seams to work that way

I pulled a 3500 lb trailer from ca to nd. Speeds were 55-65. Lowest was 12.x when I hit head winds, highest was 20.5 coming down the mountain. Average was about 16-17. I have the Hemi, and a 5x8 enclosed trailer, which was (probably) over Max.

10mpg with headwind - 12mpg w/tail wind - same size trailer. Sucks, I got 12-14 w/my 09 Ram w/390 hp and a lot more wind resistance. Feel like I got a six cylinder now compared to my ram that was twice as big....
