Shell Gas in the D
#31
I have been around cars long enough too know the difference bt what is in my head and better overall driveability. I didn't say the D makes more horse power with Shell, I am referring to part throttle response, overall driveability and get up and go.
Quality gas does make a difference in the driveability of a vehicle. I put no name crap 93 gas in my Shelby once and noticed a drop in performance for the entire tank. Sluggishness went away after a Sunoco 93 filll up.
I have owned about 30 personal cars and 6 take home since I started driving , including 10 second 442, an 11 second 442 and 540 RWHP Shelby GT500. Even my tuner, who is very well known in the Mustang world and is a close friend, agrees that quality gas will make a difference in the driveability of both a race car and daily driver. Always noticed my street and race cars ran better with Shell, Sunoco and Amoco vs the local no-name brand. I have a ton a friends that have drag cars and performance street cars and none of them use no-name/unknown-local gas in these cars. I guess it is all in their heads too.
Others have chimed in on this thread with similar experiences and views, so I am not the only one. So in conclusion take it for what it's worth, try it or don't try it but after the last fill up with 19 Petroleum and the current fill up Shell, I am sticking with Shell or another top tier gasoline.

Here's something I dug up just because I'm starting to run Shell V-Power myself so I can use different tunes on my Superchips. But I remembered this thread and thought y'all might find this interesting.

Don't shoot me even though it's off a Beemer forum.
And this is a year old but it may still hold true.
