Default 2012 Durango RT remote start

I have a 2012 Durango RT that I just purchased a few months ago . 5.7 Hemi very nice vehicle so far after a guy didn't know what stop signs are for and totaled my 2005 Durango limited . When you start it with the remote start it runs for about 20 seconds and shuts off and the message says remote start disengaged. It just started doing this yesterday, also now the check engine light stays on all the time . It is a factory installed remote start system . I have a warranty on this but just thought I would ask as now I can't get it to the dealer until after new years . Thanks

That's what happen if your gas tank is almost empty, car will shut off.

If there is any fault code, the remote start will shut off just as you describe. Low gas, shut off. Check engine light, shut off. All remote start systems do this, not just dodge. The problem with the engine light is causing the remote start to turn off, it's not the other way around.

Thanks for the information . I know low fuel was not the problem , it had almost half a tank of gas when this problem started . If you start it manually it works fine but the check engine light stays on . Like I said earlier , it's covered under a warranty I have with the dealer , I will get it in next week and have them take a look .

Could be something as simple as a slightly loose gas cap (or rust or debris on the filler neck causing a bad seal) triggering the code. If you don't have a source to scan the code at no cost, you might want to give it a 100 miles. The gas cap code will clear itself given a little time. I did get that code now and then with my 2012 Crew model V6 over the four years that I owned it.
